"…is it a crime to give a little once in a while?"

Step 1
+ Make a post to your LJ.

The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me.") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD.") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

+ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your e-mail address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (Note: home address, not required!)

+ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step 2.
+ Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred basset hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

01. Sun. If anyone can ensure days spent lounging in the summer sun on burning sand this Christmas will have my love forever and ever.

02. Great T-shirts. You know the ones. Comfortable and interesting with a picture, a comment or anything really, but not lame and tacky. I need uni shirts for next year! I haven’t had to dress myself to learn for years and I think this is the answer.

03. Any form of mail. Who doesn’t love getting a piece of someone else in their letter box? I’m very happy to reciprocate with lovelies of my own.

04. Baked goods! Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like christmas cookies, warm fudge and christmas pudding!

05. DVDs. Seriously, my collection currently consists of ol’ Harry Potts, LOTR, POTC and a few random ones. I go to choose a movie on a cold Friday night and I replay each movie in my head because I know them so well and then decide not to watch anything so the WPT goes on… it’s tragic.

06. Fic (this is quite specific, I know, but it’s been in my head): loose canon up to OotP, set at Hogwarts between students, Gryffindor/Slytherin (eg Draco/Ginny would be the bleeding obvious one, but go crazy) and the Gryff is seduced by the "Dark Side". Good reasoning and logic behind why one would join the Death Eaters, can be completely made up but not just, oh yay power lust! Or "you so hot, Drakes! I’ll totally like join dem good ol’ DE!". Convincing convincing, m’dears. Or, you know, just a rec of something like that done well!

07. CD compilations! Or a list of what you would put in a CD compilation if you were to make on.

08. Friends. You can never have enough friends, you know. (just realised that this could sound emo… it’s not, it’s a "I love people and meeting people" kind of affair!)

09. Plans for my year abroad. I haven’t even decided if I’m going yet! But I’d love love love to have everything sorted. And by sorted I mean a ticket and some kind of illegal job (no working visa!) for a month+ in like, England, around about March/April until I figured out where the wind would take me. (if this sounds too ridiculous for you, you can just get me into my degree and find a nice apartment, anything goes!)

10. Backgrounds for my laptop. Poems, fashion pictures, fandomy… all prettifully done = *love *… Right now I have Shakespeare’s "When in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes, I all alone beweep my outcast state…" but am thinking change is in order.

Email: refreshingmint@hotmail.com

I’ll leave this public. Feel free to link me to your list, your bestest friend’s or whatever :D. I’ll memory them and, come December, spread the love!
Come on guys! I know it's, what, Novmember, but Christmas spirit is one of those things that transcends time, culture and generations! (ok, so, I am meant to be Catholic and I guess Christmas is supposedly my religious culture, but giving and sharing can't really be bad, can it?!) If you don't like Christmas, think of it as a celebration of tolerance by gift-giving :D.
Current Music:
The Panics! I am loving Cruel Guards, such a good album.

I think I can help with number 3 and number 7 (although our tastes are probably nothing alike) ... also, need your address (I only have the envelopes from France, which er, won't find you ...)

Email is satirise@gmail.com if you want to send it to me. :)

Oooh. *so excited*
My taste is wide and varied. Why just today I listened to Kanye West, Tryo, The Panics, The Backstreet Boys, Josh Pyke, Zero 7 and Regina Spektor just to name a few!
K, I'll e-mail you now with a useful subject line so you can easily refind it if need be!

Well, er, my current tastes are slightly more vintage than that ... think the Beatles, or ABBA ... actually I'm liking Top 40 from anywhere between 2002 to 2005 ... weird. But oh well, to contradict myself - I can't get enough of 'Stronger' by Kanye. And any club mix by Ministry of Sound gets me going too ...

You know what, I'm going to do a random shuffle of my playlist and whatever shows up, no matter how absolutely humiliating it is for me to admit the song even features on my playlist, I will send it to you. I don't have any Michael Jackson so that's one saving grace I guess ...

I will work on the letter over the next month, and add to it whenever inspiration strikes (so if I'm lazy, you'll get squat). Or it could turn into a marathon effort full of random crap stories. Perhaps even an old fashioned photo or two ... yes, the tangible ones!

Excited already!

Ah, well, yesterday I listened to The Clash, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads and my 80s MADNESS playlist. :D. Oh and some Miles Davis for some reason. I run to Ministry of Sound sometimes as well. I have a lot of music and I like it with my moods. I doubt you could embarrass yourself. (because, I have Michael Jackson and, hey! I know the Thriller dance).

Ha, if you fail on your letter just send an envelope! Remember: mail of any kind. Old fashioned photos and maratons of inspired and amazing stories sound awesomely awesome though!

/excitement overload... I'll continue rambling on as I reply to another comment my e-mail is imforming me LJ is sending me from you.

Current song: 'You Sexy Thing' by Hot Chocolate. Heh, yeah that's right baby.

I could send an A4 size envelope full of random post its! Wouldn't that annoy the hell out of you, hehe. I'm not gonna rule that one out, yeh know. Work shall behind momentarily. :)

It's like a mini-hijacking event, just between the two of us. mwahaha. I was going back through my old journal lexisnexis and came across the most bizarre (but brilliant) comments between us. :)

Current song: The end of The Chaser.

It would be pretty cool though. You could make them all connect and I would have to figure out the order or just be confused forever. Hm, if you do that I will think of something equally torturous for you. Like an actual puzzle but you won't have the picture and I'll make you take a photo of it completed or else. I could always be more creative, but at the moment my brain is dead from lack of socialising and exam study combination.

Ah, the old days. I was my brother's age, that kind of freaks me out. Our comments have been, are, and will be perpetually bizarre (but brilliant). That's what happens when you're us.

Mum and I just finished watching that One in a Million show about the kids with medical conditions - truly awful. But we're now listening to 'Love Me Do' by the Beatles. :)

It could be like our own little Shoebox Project - because we both love each other and feel the urge to stay in contact through showings of care and affection. mwah!

Hang on - lack of socialising? What are you doing right now - talking to a tree trunk?? Don't tell me this isn't socialising, because you'll ruin all my ideas on what constitutes a social life. :<

I don't even want to remember what my life was like back then ... meh. It wasn't much worth writing about, which is surprising given that I wrote more about me back then, than I do now. Hmm. Hmm, indeed.

I'm watching some reruns of Sex and the City. Then onto The West Wing! Sam Seaborne fun times!

Oh yes. We'll have to be careful when we return to our castle of a school of the built up sexual tension, though. I could attempt drawings or something.

Oh, darling. Well, lack of socialising as in this is my longest conversation in about a month and a half. You're my ray of light, my beacon of hope! The last link to civilisation in this (oh) brave, new world.

I thought you were pretty cool. So, you know, that is something. Still do! I guess when you have nothing to write about you're more inclined to pick up the pen/keyboard (see my many exam period posts about nothing for confirmation).

Dad was watching Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader earlier - we had a debate over whether 'ox' was the singular or plural, and then over the spelling of 'oxen'. He wouldn't believe me until Google gave us the answer. *shakes head*

Yeah you'd have to do the artistic side of things ... I could always do the trace and colour, or just find a nifty colouring in book.

Hey, you aren't alone. I get that a lot - people need me, I'm needed. Yup. :P

You think I'm cool. *struts* Nice. *laughs* Suppose that's true - procrastination has always been the bane of my existence (oh so tragic). You know what needs to make a comeback - the memes. *nods* Go the memes - always great time wasters.

Never asked - how was your Melbourne Cup Day? Win anything? I got nothin'. I didn't beat either, that may have had something to do with it. :)

That show seems retarded. And, hey, I watch So You Think You Can Dance, so that's saying something.

The other problem would be my wit or lack thereof + interesting life of which I could rave. And also the fact that the last thing I drew was probably something the was meant to be human but rather resembled some kind of burnt fudge.

Who doesn't? You've got your own fansite *cough*. You should make a meme and we'd post it on this fantastic fansite and then the world would do it.

Oh, yes, I was on Purple Moon and won about ten dollars. Oh yes! My mother won about two hundred though and my dad balanced it out by losing about the same. Tragic that you had exams! Though, can't say I was out partying... more like procrastinating. 'Could've used some of those memes...

I like Rove's snippy little comments, and lord knows I don't like Rove. Smart arsed like chimp. Bleh. But I was So You Think You Can Dance - what's wrong with that. *shifty eyes* >.>

But everyone loves fudge! Burnt or otherwise. ;) And you're a never-ending supply of wit and humour, come on. I aspire to your heights of greatness. :D

Fansite? Eh? I lack originality to write my own meme. :(

Heh - that's pretty funny about your parents. Wouldn't you be dirty if you were your mother though - all that luck, the fruits just gone. A guy at work put $100 down on the trifecta - you couldn't get the grin off his face, I tell you. Heartwrenching to see, it really was.

Anywho lovely pigeon of mine, I best go to bed. Told the boss I would start work at 7am, and it's going to take a bit to get going in the morning, methinks. Good luck with your exam tomorrow! mwah!

Rove. What an enigma. He's probably pretty cool. I watched him interview Daniel Radcliffe once and was like, hey! DR is actually amazingly cute! which was a huge surprise because, you know, he is like the opposite of my Harry so I have never liked him. But SYTYCD is awesome! And the dancing boys... fun times, m'friend.

OK. So, I can just draw fudge. Or make fudge and take photos of it... then I get to eat the fudge. Plus it will cloud over my quips and what doesn't fudge make funny?

Hehe, yes, your secret fansite which... definitely exists.

My parents seem to have seperate money and my mum just gives my dad money sometimes. I don't get it really, 'cept that when ever we go shopping and buy expensive things my dad never knows about it. Wow. Maybe betting will win you money? Hehe.

I have an afternoon exam, thus the lack of sleep and much replying all about. 'Night. Although you are probably already asleep/nearly asleep and in any case not checking for comments on you LJ so you probably won't get my well wishes for your sleep. So, I guess transfer them to the next night? I don't know. I should sleep too. Au revoir, ma cherie. On se verra.
